Theoretical(Real name Luke Theophilus) started DJ-ing in the year 2001 mixing in various clubs around Oxfordshire.  

His DJ Sets showcase an energetic passion for music whilst straddling dubstep,hip hop, drum& bass and anything that smashes a dance. Mixing a creative combination of his own productions,club classics and dance floor fillers in all aspects of progressive dance music your feet will never stop moving.  

Theoretical is also the exclusive DJ for Half Decent and London based rapper Inspekta and over the last few years he’s shared the stage with the likes of Example, Chase and Status, Chipmunk, MC Lars, Hot Chip, B-Traits,DJ EZ and Mistajam to name just a few.  

From house parties to after parties to shows at Wychwood and Cornbury Festival,and all across the UK the name Half Decent and Theoretical has grown synonymous with a good time,with keen support from BBC Introducing,as well as local press NightShift and the Oxford Mail.

Theoretical released his Debut solo mixtape “Smash Up The Function” in February 2015…Followed by His Remix CD “If You Cant Join Them, Remix Them” in 2017. 

October 2019 he released a halloween themed mixtape “Music to be murdered by” featuring his own productions, remixes and collaborations.. And now has a New EP to follow in 2020. In the studio he has also recorded on Half Decent’s mixtapes “How I learned to love the Remix” and “Love Is Dead” and EP “This is the Music” by incorporating his unique DJ ability within the production. He also Mixed Inspekta’s “The Bassment Mixtape”.

For the last 6 years Theoretical has held DJ Residencies at some of Oxfords most popular night clubs and bars, whilst also providing guest mixes for many local and internet radio stations,such as Destiny 105.1 fm.  With a host of projects waiting in the wings his DJ sets are also the stomping ground for new exclusive material such as remix’s, new productions and “Smash Ups”.

In Film, Theoretical co-wrote and starred in Amateur Short/musical horror flick “Never Walk Alone” and is now currently writing and directing his own movie to be released on Theoretical Presents in 2020.
